Chamber & Concert Singers on the Madison, WI Capital steps

On Friday afternoon, March 14th, 52 Chamber and Concert Singers traveled to Madison, WI to perform in a joint concert with the Madison Children’s Choir.  On Saturday, they toured the State Capital building before returning home.  The following is a first hand report about the trip.

Bus ride to Madison, WI“On Friday, we left Naperville and spent a couple of hours on the bus as we neared Madison.  Finally, we arrived at the Wingate Inn.  A little before 5:00 p.m. we loaded back on the bus and headed to the church we were to perform at.

We practiced our own songs and then the combined ones with the Chamber Singers.  The Madison choir came in and we sang ‘Hope for Resolution’ and taught them ‘Take Time in Life.’  They were fast learners!  At last it was time to perform (‘South Sami People’ went really well!!). The Madison Children’s Choir was really good!  After the performance, we ate.  At 9:45 p.m., we headed back to the hotel.  Lights out was 11:00 p.m.

Eating at McDonald’sOn Saturday, we had breakfast and headed to the pool.  We got on the bus (again!) and ate at McDonald’s.  Then we trekked across the street to the Capital building.  It was awesome!  Everything was so beautiful and old!  We learned a lot about Wisconsin’s history.  We sang inside, too.  The sound echoed for so long!  Even though we were happy to be going home, we’ll all miss Madison!”
